What Tarjetas de Kinder is
Each card practices one idea. The kit covers five areas:
- Abecedario (alphabet): name every capital and lowercase letter.
- Sílabas (syllables): read and blend syllables.
- Palabras (words): read common words by sight.
- Números (numbers): recognize numbers and count to 100.
- Retos del Guerrero (Warrior Challenges): count by 10s, rhyme, hear first sounds and move.
How they are made
- Recognition cards carry no pictures, so the child reads the card instead of guessing the picture.
- The adult strip carries the answer and an example, so you never have to flip the card.
Who it is for
- For parents and family members of kindergarten children learning to read in Spanish.
- For kindergarten teachers, including dual-language programs.
This page is for adults: we do not ask for any information about children.
How it works: 5 to 8 minutes a day
PRO TIP · Suggested routine
- Pick about 10 cards: roughly 7 your child already knows and 3 new ones.
- Show each card and sort it into three piles: ¡Ya lo sé! · Casi · Todavía no (I know it! · Almost · Not yet).
- Review the “Casi” and “Todavía no” piles once, then finish on a success.
- A card counts as mastered after three separate days in the ¡Ya lo sé! pile.
This is common practice, not a promise of results.
